• Notes

  The Layne genealogy book claims that Early (Earl) lived in Harlan, KY and had a son named Edzel who in turn had a son named Earl in 1921. This seems unlikely as Early would have been a grandfather at age 27. We've been unable to positively track Early beyond the 1910 census in Marion Count though his death record states that he lived until 1955.
