  Notes	The Layne genealogy book lists “Daniel”, born 1853, son of Abraham and Margaret with children: Risiah 1871, Joshua 1872, Sarah 1873, Narcisa 1874, Lydia 1876, Henderson 1878, and Americus 1879. Compare to the children of David and Nancy Countess Layne who we know to be Kisiah 1871, J Hugh 1872, Sarah 1873, Narcisa 1874, Jane 1876, Henderson 1877, and Elizabeth 1879. It seems that Floyd Benjamin got a bit mixed up here. This Daniel and his children are a fabrication.

  From Lane book: Lived at Burkett's Chapel, Grundy co Tenn in early 1800's with William Harrison Jr, both miners; during Civil War both were hanged by Union soldiers There are numerous problems with this which Jackie Layne Partin details in her "Burkett Chapel Graveyard and More" publication. In addition, Marion County Deed Book D, page 440-441, details an account of shares due to each child of David from one Raphael Shelton. All of David's children appear in this record with the exception of Abraham although he does appear later on the deed in 1858. At the very least he must have still been considered a child in 1842 for his name not to appear. Likely the "Aberham" Layne buried at Burkett's Chapel 9 Sep 1824 - 15 Feb 1907.
